I love having the Father of the Bride present the bridal bouquet to the bride - it's such a special moment. We had Alexis' Dad and Step Dad, have a private moment seeing Alexis in her gown for the first time - the "First Look" with Dad.
For all of our clients, we create a Plan A as well as a contingency plan in case of bad weather. We saw the dark clouds coming as the day progressed closer to the ceremony hour. The Bride was adamant about wanting the ceremony outside on the beautiful beach. We hustled and made it happen and just in time! It started raining immediately after the recessional. Because of planning, we were able to have guests on the side of the room indoors and out of the rain. Our crew had to hustle and pull all the chairs and church pews out of the rain to prevent them from getting water damage - another reason to hire a planner and team!

Bryce Hoogland and Sydney Thomas, high school sweethearts and film students with a shared passion for the silent cinema of yesteryear, wanted to imbue their big day with a “vintage film feel.” Surrounded by fragrant lavender fields, enshrouded in decades-old greenery, and dotted with an eclectic array of found art, Sutherland’s Ranch offered the Idahoan couple a setting worthy of the old screen. A lunar motif gave the event a touch of stardust, with a handcrafted crescent moon evoking the popular portrait props of the early twentieth century.
The wedding was captured beautifully by Ethan and Emily Hensley of E + E Photography, whose photographic treatment was inflected with a sense of the past. “Bryce and Sydney put so much thought into every bygone detail,” Emily says. “Their nuptials encompassed everything that is beautiful about a summer wedding in Idaho.” - Swooned
““For us, the ceremony was the best part of the day. We wrote our own vows, and saying them out loud before all of our loved ones really hit home. We started off the ceremony by presenting both of our mothers with bouquets and thanking them for making the day possible. We ended the ceremony by having our officiant explain to our guests why Bryce and I opted to take each other’s surnames, hyphenating them together to create a new name. We wanted to have the same last name, but we didn’t want to follow the patriarchal tradition of a bride abandoning her last name.”

“I knew from the moment I said “YES” that I wanted a fairytale Ira + Lucy wedding. There are so many fun things that come along with being engaged and planning a wedding—visiting venues, trying on wedding dresses, and of course taking engagement pictures! ”
Taking engagement pictures with my fiancé was something I was so excited to do. These are pictures that document such a special time in your life and are something you can decorate your first home with. These pictures are showcased on your wedding invitations and are essentially a preview for what a fabulous day your wedding will be, they truly set the tone for the big day! My best friend Kylie Morgan is a photographer so choosing her was a no brainer for me because her pictures are so dreamy. Next, my fiancé and I needed to decide on outfits and location. Just like every other bride I hopped on Pinterest and began searching day and night for engagement photo ideas. I quickly realized that I didn’t want engagement photos that were like every other brides’. I wanted our pictures to truly represent us.
LOCATION:
The location was something that was really important to my fiancé. He loves the mountains so pictures surrounded by trees were a must. I decided McCall would be the perfect place to get a dreamy mountain and meadow backdrop. My family lives at Whitetail in McCall and it is the most breathtaking place full of trees and perfect sunset views. The dock at Shorelodge was our second location because I love the way the light reflects off the water there. I grew up visiting that hotel so it holds a special place in my heart. Picking locations that are special to you and your fiancé will make your pictures that much more magical and meaningful.
OUTFIT:
Okay so my fiancé couldn’t honestly have cared any less about his outfit for that day, so this part was all up to me! I love all things girly and slightly over the top. I didn’t want to wear just any ordinary outfit. These pictures were the perfect excuse to spoil myself and buy something I don’t wear on a regular day. I had been following Bliss Tulle on Instagram for a while and was absolutely in love with all of their skirts, so I knew I had to have one for our pictures. The super girly tulle skirt in my favorite color lavender was the perfect outfit. I felt like such a princess in flowing lavender tulle. I encourage all brides to go a little bold for your engagement picture outfit. After all, you only take engagement pictures once!
The setting and outfits were chosen, but my fiancé and I still wanted another element to make our pictures even more wow! I love vintage furniture because it makes everything seem like a romantic fairytale—which is exactly the look I was going for with these pictures. I picked out a vintage settee for our romantic woodsy engagements and I love the way it turned out in the photos.
I also recommend getting your makeup done the day of pictures because the pampering makes you feel like a princess and the pictures turn out so much better! Blush By Jamie Rose made me feel so special and beautiful that day. Overall, engagement pictures are an amazing experience to enjoy with your fiancé that creates a lasting and tangible memory. I am so excited to have Heidi along this journey to help with all of the wedding details. If a wedding is half as fun as taking engagement pictures then I am in for one fabulous day!

It's with bittersweet emotions that I share Katie and Craig's beautiful wedding day! It took almost a full year's work to plan, design and manage their wedding and I have come to care very much for Katie and Craig and their families. I consider myself extremely blessed by the clients and the friendships formed from the relationship we build and so sometimes when it's all over.... it can be a little sad. I know that the emails and texts and meetings will become memories, but they are cherished memories. Katie and Craig have thee biggest hearts and are two of the most kind individuals I have ever met. This was truly a labor of love! Custom design boards
As part of our "Enhanced Day of" Package we provide design assistant to three selected areas of the couples' choice. Makayla and Mike asked for special attention for their Head Bridal Party Table, The Ceremony Alter and the Cake Feature.
Below is a snippet from the Custom Design Boards we created for the Head Table concept, featuring a romantic floral print linen from La Tavola Fine Linen, pulling in the blush tones from the wedding color palette. The Bride and Groom sat in our "Kelli Jean" french victorian settee for their special seating and the rest of the wedding party looked lovely in the cross back chairs we sourced from Tates. Each place setting had our Honey Harvest rattan charger and a blush napkin. French vintage blush stemware added some whimsy and antique brass candlesticks and candles set the tone for a dreamy garden tablescape. The floral design by Lemon Blossom Designs was stunning!!!! Those peonies were quite the statement and so dreamy! I finished the settings by adding classic china with blush accents for the Bride and Groom place settings.

brrrr.... it's cold outside!
So, last night we were down to 1 DEGREE!!! And today's high was only 12.... Brrrr it's freezing! But, then I found this HOT deal today out running errands! I'll be honest, I don't shop much at Craft Warehouse, I think it's too pricey there and I'm very selective on what I do buy and that is usually if I have a coupon. As a Designer and working my butt off trying to find ways to give you beautiful weddings, while thinking of your wallet I do love when I land on cost savings. AND I usually try to source items via wholesale outlets and other connections we have. So, today I found these Pashmina scarves at $5 each in a wide variety of colors.
This is a great option for buying in bulk! Have 150 guests? Estimate half are female and plan for only a portion of those guests will use a scarf. I'd suggest 50! Keep your receipt and anything that isn't used you can return.
PASHMINA
Pashmina is the finest type of cashmere wool. The textiles made from it were first woven in Kashmir. The name comes from Persian: پشمینه / pašmina, meaning "made from wool" and literally translates to "Soft Gold" in Kashmiri -
Sure, you can find these a little cheaper on wholesale sites around $3.50 each, but I vote for the $5 option where you can see the colors in person and feel the quality! I say the peace of mind is well worth the extra $1.50! Plus, any you don't use simply return! Keep your receipt!
