Veronica Sheaffer Design Studio

Are you ready for some gorgeous sneak peeks from the fine art inspired‪ boudoir session we recently created with Jennifer Munoz? This is my personal favorite form of boudoir - enhancing the soft tones, romantic curves, textures and lighting. It's about evoking emotions and telling a story. I'm smitten over the gorgeous delicate lingerie line from Veronica Sheaffer, Chicago's premier design studio! How dreamy! The lingerie paired incredibly well with the handcrafted crown and hair adornments by Naturae Design.

Introducing Naturae Design

How in love are we with Naturae Design, specializing in hairpiece and design created with antique and precious materials. Each piece is handcrafted by maker and designer Daniella van den Huijssen. "Fascinated by the history of precious heirloom and her love for nature she came across an antique Myrtle crown and Naturae Design was born. Every piece is inspired by natural elements made by a combination of the best in antique and modern craftmanship. Gold and silver plated pieces and precious stones are wired and soldered by hand so that each piece holds its fairness through long periods of time. The designs are perfect for a bride to be as well as being able to wear in daily life." source

The Westchester Wedding Planner Features Ira and Lucy

The Westchester Wedding PlannerFeatures Ira + Lucy

westchesterweddingplannerI am so excited to start my week with Ira and Lucy featured on The Westchester Wedding Planner! A "transplant" to Idaho from the bigger city life has been an adjustment these past few years and quite the adventure! Boise has been so welcoming and embraced our family with a lot of love and support! It's been incredible building our vintage rental and wedding design and planning business from the ground up here, so much so that we are now expanding our design and coordination services into Seattle and Portland! It is awesome to be featured by New York's Westchester Wedding Planner this morning! I adore when Idaho Creatives are recognized and put on the "wedding designer map"! We have some incredibly awesome talent here! I'm so grateful for the awesome team of creatives that helped me pull this dream shoot together! xx

[pullquote width="600" float="left"]Happy Monday! This is a fantastic way to begin our week! Heidi of Ira & Lucy Event Design envisioned a dream photo shoot with the most delicate color palette, stunning tablescape with the accents of watercolor, and wedding attire producing one of the prettiest shoots we’ve had the pleasure of featuring here at TWWP. There are so many sweet details that brides can use as inspiration for their own lovely weddings. I hope you love this photo shoot as much as I do. [/pullquote]

Ira & Lucy Featured on Oregon Bride Magazine!

We are so honored to be featured today on Oregon Bride Magazine

images"Though I love the brightly colored, sunny mood of summer in the Pacific Northwest, fall and winter tend to bring out a sumptuous richness of design in our local vendors’ creative efforts that I find simply irresistible. This equal parts Ralph Lauren and equestrian inspired styled shoot embodies that cold-weather decadence. From the gorgeous reclaimed wood table, to the dramatic black wedding gown, to the striking blue chaise lounge, rustic luxury with a glam touch abounds.

Pretty details aside, I’m even more excited to share this shoot than usual, given that it features a dream team of Western Idaho vendors never before featured on Oregon Bride. After writing the Eastern Oregon destination story in the current print issue of our magazine, I’m keenly aware that Eastern Oregon brides don’t have half the luxury of picky-ness that their Willamette Valley counterparts do. Though all of the vendors featured in this shoot are Idaho-based, most are located within 45 minutes of the Oregon border, and creative mastermind behind the whole shoot, Heidi Wight’s event coordination team Ira & Lucy, specializes in Northwest destination weddings. Keep scrolling to see it all, and scroll all the way to the bottom to read more about Wight's inspiration behind the shoot—Eastern Oregon brides, take note!" - Taylor Ellsworth, Oregon Bride Magazine

Seen on Loverly

featured on loverly I was pleasantly surprised to see that Desiree Hartsock submitted our water color photo shoot to Lover.lyMy heart is so full! It means the world when our hard work is noticed! We planned every little detail for this shoot, even hand doing the water color table runner, napkins and pillow covers (DIY TUTORIAL COMING SOON!) Lindsey with Behrens Artistry and I ran all over this city finding the perfect bridesmaid gowns, belts and jewelry! Did you know that those hemlock gowns and blue belts are from H&M?! We really tend to fall for non traditional "bridesmaid" gowns and accessories!

My hubby and I handcrafted the mantel, which almost ended our marriage! (jk) We had a fabulous team to help bring it together! I'm just so thrilled! To think 35,000 viewers saw our work! Facing Fears

Apologies for being away for a bit. We have been quite busy with wedding season, as well as our family coping with the loss of our second child, Gabriel, just over a month ago. Early in our pregnancy, to our devastation we learned that Gabriel had major developmental anomalies. It has been the most painful and difficult time of our lives. I'm still trying to process it all, and am sure I will need a lifetime to do so. I carried our sweet boy for as long as my body would allow... just after the 21 week mark I became severely ill and had to be hospitalized. My body was shutting down... a few days later Gabriel was born...our angel. Right now I can't go into more details because it's too much for me and yet still so deeply close to our hearts that we aren't ready to share it all with the world. I have tried my best to keep our personal life, and in particular this difficult journey separate from our business part of life, but it is difficult at times to do that. I've always worn my heart on my sleeve, and I'll admit I was terrified that by sharing our struggles it would harm our business. I feared our clients or those considering us for services would run for the hills, demand their money back and that other businesses in our industry would avoid us as well. The complete opposite has happened and I am so incredibly touched. Instead, our clients old and brand new AND those in the industry have been nothing short of amazing. The patience, compassion, love, the tender thoughts and gestures... I am forever amazed at the human heart. Thank you... Thank you for allowing us to be honest, to be real and to share our difficult journey with you, even though I was so terrified to. We know many of you are wondering more about our story and some of you have been following us every step of the way. Should you want to know more about Gabriel's story you are welcome to read our [button url="http://thewighthouse.tumblr.com/"]FAMILY BLOG[/button] We have found some healing in sharing and will continue to tell it as we take life a day at a time. Thank you for still loving us, for still supporting us and for continuing to invite us to be part of your weddings and special events. Ira & Lucy is such a lifeline for us and we deeply thank you.

Alright, here's my attempt at wiping the tears away and sharing the projects we have had going on. We were pleased to produce the styled shoot featured on the cover and inside the first edition of McCall Wedding and Event Directory, McWED. Sherry, the Editor in Chief, invited us to be part of the creative process with bringing her dream alive. It was quite the exciting journey and it continues! We designed the logo, the branding, including the new website and were part of designing the magazine. It's a fabulous and much needed resource, be sure to check it out! This shoot was a challenge for me. I was pregnant with Gabriel, unsure if I would miscarry at any time and the onslaught of emotions and grief and dealing with the unpleasantries that pregnancy can offer. However, I was so excited to work with such a great team and it was good for me to have a project to focus on. I was first approached by Kindra, the videographer, at the wedding show in January. She and her dear friend, Ellie, the photographer, had hopes for putting together a cinematic styled shoot. After lots of talking about goals and vision I was thrilled that both Ellie and Kindra handed the reins over to me. After doing quite a few styled shoots, I have found how crucial it is to have a Creative Director/Producer. You get a bunch of "creatives" in the kitchen and boy can it be chaotic :) I know you creatives out there know exactly what I mean ;) We put together the rest of the team and was it a wonder to see it all come together. I will never forget the evening before the shoot. Lindsey (Behrens Artistry) and I went into crisis mode to come up with different bridesmaid dresses. We walked all over this town searching for the right gowns! Lindsey was making sure I was staying hydrated and eating protein bars. We were thrilled to find the gowns at H&M in the perfect Hemlock hue and the blue belts! We planned every single detail and are so pleased how it came together! Great job team! Below are some of my favorites from the shoot and don't miss the beautiful film production by Kindra.
