A Live Wedding Experience

Event Design Internship | Summer 2026 Deadline for Applications is May15th 2026

At Ira and Lucy, we believe the most valuable learning happens inside real, high-level event environments—not just in theory, but in execution. For Summer 2026, we are offering a limited, hands-on internship experience centered around a fully produced wedding event, designed for 4-6 individuals who want a true behind-the-scenes look at luxury event planning, design, and production.

What This Experience Includes

This experience is designed as a multi-phase, hands-on immersion into real wedding production—not a one-day observation.

Phase 1: Pre-Production Session

Prior to the event, you’ll join a dedicated pre-production meeting where we walk through the specific planning and design process in detail.

During this session, we will cover:

  • A deep dive into the master production timeline—including the exact tools, structure, and strategy behind how it’s built

  • A full review of the event design deck, including how concepts are developed, presented, and executed

  • Insight into creating signature design presentations that align with high-end client expectations

  • Clear expectations for event day, including roles, attire, and production flow

  • Open Q&A to ensure you feel prepared and confident going into the event

Phase 2: Live Wedding Production

You will join us on-site at 9:00 AM for a full-scale wedding production, working alongside our team throughout the day. This is a hands-on experience, not passive shadowing.

You’ll gain direct exposure to:

  • Event layout and guest flow strategy

  • Tablescape styling and design execution in real time

  • Installation of key design features and focal points

  • How to style intentionally for publication-worthy imagery

  • Vendor communication, collaboration, and coordination

  • Real-time troubleshooting and decision-making

  • Timeline management and maintaining production momentum

  • Working alongside photography and film teams

  • Guest experience and client interaction

  • Strike (tear-down) logistics and vendor wrap-up

  • Building and maintaining strong vendor and client relationships

You will be working directly alongside Principal Planner and Designer, Heidi, gaining insight into both the creative and logistical sides of execution. The wedding schedule/production will conclude around 12:30am.

Phase 3: Post-Event Debrief + Coaching

Following the wedding, we will regroup for a post-event session designed to reinforce what you’ve learned.

This includes:

  • A full event debrief and breakdown

  • Open Q&A to discuss real scenarios from the day

  • Individual one-on-one time (scheduled same day) for personalized feedback and guidance

Program Scope & Expectations

  • This is a focused, high-impact experience centered around a single, fully produced event

  • The structure is intentional, allowing for deeper involvement rather than diluted, multi-event exposure

  • At this time, additional weddings are not scheduled for extended hands-on participation

Location

The wedding will take place in the Treasure Valley area, at the Historic Bishop’s House in Boise, Idaho—a garden setting that presents a beautiful and layered environment for learning layout, flow, and outdoor event production. Specific logistical details will be shared upon acceptance. Here is a sneak peek at the design deck we will be sharing with attendees in full.

Investment & Structure

This experience is structured as a mentorship-style program, and the investment reflects the level of access, guidance, and direct involvement provided.

The participation fee covers:

  • Pre-production training and materials

  • Full wedding day access and hands-on experience

  • Post-event debrief and one-on-one coaching

  • Direct mentorship from Principal Planner and Designer, Heidi Elizabeth and partner Jonnathan Wight, offering nearly 15 years of professional experience.

Our consulting and coaching services are typically offered at $175 per hour, and an experience of this depth would traditionally exceed $3,500 in value.

For this opportunity, the full experience is offered at:

$850 per participant

For those looking to continue learning beyond this experience, additional one-on-one coaching sessions are available at an hourly rate.
